The Nexus vision is a flexible platform providing spatial world models for context-aware services. Realizing such a service platform in a scalable way is a challenging issue. Therefore, the performance of components of the Nexus system is addressed by different sub-projects within the center of excellence. This document is the final report of a taskforce that has coordinated these activities in an interdisciplinary way. The report first gives an overview of different methods used to evaluate the performance and scalability of the Nexus system. Second, several studies on aspects of particular importance are presented. The report concludes with an analysis of different usage scenarios for large-scale location based services with respect to performance and scalability issues.
